(#27) Being more yourself
macro value in coinbase launching a L2, evolve or die, sensible optimism
“Optimism is usually defined as a belief that things will go well. But that's incomplete. Sensible optimism is a belief that the odds are in your favor, and over time things will balance out to a good outcome even if what happens in between is filled with misery. And in fact you know it will be filled with misery.” - Morgan Housel
Or maybe it’s is an acceptance of the process, knowing it’ll be a constant chain of suprise, volatility, setback, and disapointment, but if you can stick around long enough the odds of eventual growth and success are in your favor.
The most mind F thing is when you have to step backwards to move forwards. Being more yourself to adapt to get to where you want to be. February was definitely a reflection month on what has been working / not working and slowing down to take the steps I need to take. Slowing down can be really hard and confusing.

Coinbase launches blockchain Base to help developers build dApps on-chain:
The massive Macro value in Coinbase launching a L2 blockchain is hugely significant. A large centralized US-based publicly traded company entity is taking a bold move to explore on-chain decentralized services.
Coinbase is one of the largest crypto custodians, which powers many institutions, with 108M registered verified users. They are the gateway to crypto for many retail users and are one of the first publicly traded crypto companies in the space….we will see more of this. They are trailblazing the way and setting banking on-chain narratives unfolding. 👏👏
Evolve or die. This obviously carries a lot of risk for them in the current regulatory environment. This also demonstrates that their virtues lie in the 'right' place i.e. decentralized virtues.
And I'm super grateful I get to be a part of this.
Bankless Pod - good overview from Jesse Pollock Senior Director of Engineering at Coinbase
The best coverage I’ve watched on Base, the bankless guys always do a great job. One major theme was giving back to and being involved with the community and contributing to the development of the underlying technologies.
